11 series motors use M2.5 screws for the motor case.
14 series use M3 screws for the motor case.
15 series use M3 for the the 1515 and smaller sizes and M4 for the 1521 and larger.
17 series use M3 screws for the motor case.
19 series use M3 for the motor case.
19 H series use M4 screws for the motor case.
22 series use M4 screws for the motor case
The Maxon gear box uses M2.5 screws
The P32 uses M3 screws.
The P42 and F3A gear box use M4 screws
The P62 gear box uses M5 screws.
Make sure that you use a quality screw that is the right length! Too long of screw can damage the windings and too short a screw can pull the threads out of the housing. Both of these problems are not warranty issues! We suggest that all screws have Locktite 242 or similar to keep the screws from backing out.

Make sure that you mount the motor using the right length screws. Screws that are too long can contact the windings and cause damage.
Make sure that your prop or rotor are balanced. Vibration from a unbalanced load can damage the bearings and motor windings.
On geared applications check the lash to avoid bearing problems.
Help protect the motor leads from vibration damage by using zip ties to secure the wires that exit the motor and attach to the speed controller. Secure the wires from movement relative to the motor housing.
To avoid over heating the motor check current draw and see that it is with in the suggested range for your motor type and model.

The 11, 14, 15 and 2200/12 series motors all have 12 slot stators and 4 pole rotors.
The 12 series motors have 24 slot stators and 26 magnet poles.
The 2200/24, 19 and 17 series motors all have 24 slot stators and 8 pole rotors.
The 44 series motors are 36 slot stators and 12 pole magnet rotors.

Note that that Castle has released an improved version of the software, which lets the user adjust the brake ramp, which is a good idea as the brake is very strong, and has been known to break motor mounts. - LVC—settings depend on your setup and number of cells.
- Current limit disabled for high F5B power setups—up to user for other applications.
- Brake—depends on user needs. Sport planes usually have brake off. The newer versions of software offer user selectable braking for larger F3A and IMAC stunt planes.
- Throttle type—fixed.
- For most uses the low advance setting is best—motors have better efficiency. “Y” wind motors can use medium advance for a little more power or speed. “D” wind motors should always use low advance as there is no improvement with higher advance settings.
- Cutoff—up to user.
- Startup—depends on use. Sport planes the soft start is good. For contest planes the fast start is best.
- PWM frequency –the lowest settings work well with all Neumotors 11/13KHz.

- 11XX, 15XX, and 22XX series of motors are all 4 pole designs. 19XX series are 8 poles and the 44XX series are 12 poles.
- Use low (0-10 degrees)or medium(10-15 degrees) advance settings for “Y” wind motors and low (0-10 degrees) advance settings for “D” wind versions.
- Brake settings are up to the user and application.

NeuMotors are warranted to be free of defects in materials or workmanship for a period of 1 year from the date of purchase to the original retail buyer. This warranty does not cover damage due to misuse, damage from crashes or vibration. Motor wires can be broken from vibration. Damage to motor wires from vibration is NOT covered under warranty! It is your responsibility to protect the wires from damage!
Ball bearings are also not covered under warranty as they are a wear item and subject to replacement from time to time. Wear of shafts due to excessive side loads or poor gear mesh is also not covered. Motors in surface applications are subject to grit and dirt. Damage caused by dirt to bearings and shafts and other rotating parts is not covered.
Motors used in racing are subject to extreme stress. Warranty for motors used in any racing will be at the sole discretion of NeuMotors.

NeuEnergy batteries are warranted to be free of defects for a period of 30 days from the purchase date. This warranty does not cover damage from misuse or crashes. Most all battery problems are related to not using the batteries within the safe operating limits.
Over-discharge is the most common problem with the new generation of low resistance cells. You can not depend on a LVC in the motor controller to keep from deep discharging your packs. The best way to get long life from you batteries is to avoid discharging below 80% of the useable capacity. Useable capacity will decline as the battery ages and should be checked from time to time so you can adjust your flight time to avoid problems.
See the Contact us page for information on how to send a battery back for a warranty claim. Please download and fill out the service request form. For batteries that are not covered under the above warranty we do offer a replacement for 65% of the current retail price. This is available for batteries that no longer function for any reason.

Lithium batteries are different and need to be treated with care to ensure your safety.
- NeuEnergy Lithium batteries MUST be charged with a charger designed for lithium polymer batteries. If you have doubts about your charger check with the manufacture before using on lithium batteries. Never charge NeuEnergy batteries above 4.2 volts/cell.
Follow directions from the manufacture of the charger for setting the correct cell count and current.
- Never leave a battery on charge while unattended.
- Charge batteries in a container that is flame proof and away from items that can burn.
- Check the battery for ANY signs of damage before starting to charge. Any pack with damage should NOT be charged!
- Let batteries cool to ambient temperature after discharging before recharging.

After the warranty period we offer a “no questions” asked 60% of current retail price replacement for motors that are damaged beyond repair. This exchange is limited to a motor of similar size and cost as the one being turned in.
- ”Stock” motors can be defined as those that are in regular production. The regular production motors listing includes those lengths and winds listed on thewww.neuracing.wpengine.com web site. A example of a “stock motor would be a 1515/1Y/F.
- Custom motors include windings and lengths not listed on the web site that have to be special made. All motors with gear drives are considered to be “custom” motors as are motors ordered with special shaft options. Some examples of “custom” motors would include these: 1515/.5D, 1521/.5Y. 1527/6Y, 1506/1D/6,7. If there is doubt if a order falls into the custom category then call or e-mail us for a answer.
- Motors that are “stock” can be returned for exchange or credit up to 30 days after delivery if they are unused.
- “Custom” motors have more limited options available. The order can be modified or changed up to the date the motor production actually starts. Once the motor has started the production process it is not possible to change or cancel the order. Because the unique nature of the custom versions there is usually few options to resell them. If a customer wants to change or cancel a order please call or e-mail to determine the status.

All repairs should be sent to the location below.
Please remove any connectors or speed controllers from the motor. It will save us time and help us get your motor back to faster. Be sure to include a note with your contact information and the nature of the problem. Repairs usually take two to three weeks after the motor arrives here. We also can provide repair service for both Aveox and Medusa brand motors.
